Memorial Day honors the thousands of Americans who gave their all in service to their country. And every year on that day at the Fresno Memorial Gardens organizers of a special service choose a person to honor for his or her commitment to that purpose. This year that person is Charlie Waters, a Korean War Veteran whose dogged determination to serve veterans is the stuff of legend. His memories of his combat days are still with him sixty years later. A few days before Memorial Day 2011 he agreed to sit down and talk with me about that time in his life.
